"Nautilus" - Although Finch insists that he no longer wishes to help with new numbers, his interest is piqued when Reese learns that the newest POI is a brilliant college student engaged in a mysterious, life-and-death scavenger hunt, on PERSON OF INTEREST, Tuesday, Sept. 30 (10:01-11:00 PM ET/PT) on CBS.

how come shaw gets a whole name, and amy is just root??
What was roots whole name?

The dog is different, seems like a much older dog.
This one sounds ok, but is this the setup, where they just keep doing the numbers, and try to stay under the radar, while hitgirl lol try to track them down probably killing many along the way.

I want to know more abut samaratin and is it just a cold machine ?
What are its goals? It has to have a goal besides eliminating threats, and if it is truly sentient,
Then it should think for itself and develop a personality and goals, and opinions etc.
What does it think of greer? Does it care about greer?
Did greer even try to teach it right and wrong? It seemed it came on and he said do what you want but lets kill these 5 people, and come up with the info for numbers to give senator, and other than that we dont know.
I would like to see some conversations between greer and the machine to clarify some things, otherwise the S machine is just a caricature.

And so far no ideas from harold or the "machine with no name" lol on how they ever plan to defeat greer and his S machine.
The main thing though is they need to flesh out what samaritan is and what it is thinking, before they just dive into number of the week stories.
It is hard for me to get into those without getting more info on Samaratin and greer .

Same thing for the "machine with no name" give it a name and let us hear it talk to root, it gets old just having root tell us things.

To me the most interesting thing in this show are the 3 machines and what they are thinking and developing into, and what are their goals??
Right now it seems they just want to not go into that and instead just keep them as secondary bad and good guys, with no development, and do the number of the week thing, and hitgirl.
There is so much more they could do at this point.

Saw the show live, much better this week.
I liked the girl playing the game, she was cute, I was hoping she would join team machine,
but she chose the dark side lol.
now S has its own version of root.
Maybe we get to see a cat fight between those 2 at some point ??

The team is back , batcave is open and ready for business! That is what you need tscc, you would have a faster internet connection! Just tie into a fiber optic mainline for 500 gb per second.
Plus it is free!
Amy was looking old in this one! They need a better camera guy, this show is so dark, many scenes at night or in dark rooms, and one thing I found out watching charmed is the camera and lighting director can make a show great or bad.Also helps making the women look good..... or bad.

the charmed girls hired a guy from another show and it made a huge difference in how the show and people on it looked.

Back OT. i did guess that S was behind the game when the e-mail had no source.
The other thing is the machine could help the crew with $ very easily, them working jobs might get tedious and hard to believe.

Hm, as I understood, Root said it is part of Shaw's cover, to be some "ordinary criminal", just not big enough to get relevant for Samaritan.
But I'm not quite sure about that.

I liked it too a lot. I just don't get, why you didn't like the season opener "much" less.
The "Team Machine"'s new hideout is perfect. Pretty cool!
Also some good conversations about having a choice and making decisions.

join them, but they didnt really offer that, and she wanted to belong to something, have a purpose and S gave her that.
She will be like root, but for S.

Why when Finch found out that Samaritan was behind the treasure hunt, didn't he some how send the Silverpool guys after them? They might make enough of a problem that Greer can't try to locate The Machine crew and Claire Mahoney? The head Silverpool guy ,David that Reese locked up maybe back again. That actor is familiar.

But I also thought we would hear again from the Rich Computer guy that Reese had to chase around his sports car on his motorcycle a couple seasons ago. He tried to check into the teams back ground.

The treasure hunt reminded me of "National Treasure" with Nicholas Cage. But like standing in the middle of the street to find a clue was kinda dumb.

Harold was reluctant to help Claire, but he at end was all set up and back in business.

Reese(Det. Riley) sure seemed to have a lot of free time. But in past so did Carter and Fusco.

I hope Greer and Samaritan don't figure out that they could do an algorithm on people with bird names as last names. They would find a lot of Harold's aliases.

Fusco dumping that load of paperwork on Reese was funny. Also him doing "New York New york" was funny.

Shaw on her own crime spree with Romeo and his gang, I am not sure where this will lead. Reese coming to get her help could have put her in danger.

Finch and Reese talking on phone at precinct, "Captain calling, Hi Captain", Harold replies, Glad I've been promoted!" lol.

Finch calls Root, Miss Groves. That name she used when she worked for Pennsylvania Two/Special Councils office. He's the one who was with Hersh and failed to locate The Machine after it moved itself, and Madam Control had Hersh kill him.

Samantha Groves is Root's real name. Her backstory and identity was revealed in eps 1x22, 1x23, 2x01 and 2x02.
Obviously Finch prefers to use her real name.
But when she worked undercover as the Special Counsel's secretary in the Office of Special Counsel ("Control"), didn't she use the alias "Miss May"?

LOl your memory is too good Tscc ! I had no idea the alias she used as Special Counsel's secretary.

you know root almost never does the hacking or computer stuff anymore, and she was like harold equal or better.
So they might as well call her miss groves or samantha.

The machine S wanted someone not only smart but able to deal with danger, and be very driven and capable.

I do remember Miss May, you MAYbe right.
