| No, nothing to sustain your self in the desert. I would at least grab a boat, you can fish, although you better bring a lot of water. | |

| Yeah being in LA a boat would be a good idea, and you need water, but cjould also collect rain water at times. you would have to come ashore at times no matter what.
For a show though that would elimate much of the danger and therefore story.] I wonder if they will go to the desert, that idea was sort of go there and wait it out till things are normal or safe, but that wont happen so.....
Ratings all I could get was 8.2 mil, total, and I think 5.2 18/49 demo. So a 2 mil drop on viewers, is like a normal show ! lol
From what little i have read , seems people dont really care for the characters, and maybe the actors. The heroin addict is liked more than the others.

| I like the characters, you have to give them time to grow. I really like the kid who knows everything that's happening, I hope he makes it | |

I hope so too. But well, his knife is not even a joke ... ;-) Since the kid seemed to anticipate and believe in something really bad to happen soon, I thought he would have been clever enough to buy a prober gun in advance at the next Walmart of his trust ... ;-) But then he would have easily shot the zombie teacher and Mom wouldn't have gotten her first zombie kill ... and there would have gone much of the drama ... ;-) As for ep 1x02 I could mostly say the same as for the pilot. It didn't really grab me yet, but it is still enough suspensefull to just keep me watching. I mean, it's not complicated to follow, just some "popcorn" entertainment, pretty much what can be expected. As mostly in TV shows of course Daddy can't just tell his son the truth or give him a direct warning over the phone instead of some weird hints, no, he only can do this face to face ... again, where would be the drama without the usual stupid behaviour in TV shows ... Oh, and one thing, that I tried and by now managed to ignore for TWD, but now rises up again, is the stupid premise how zombies come into existence. They use the lazy, but for the writers very convenient "explanation", that magically over night every human is "infected" by whatever, which makes them come back as zombies no matter the cause of death. Thus the zombie apocalypse can much more easily and quickly spread than the way more believable way of infection only by zombie bites. Also seeing the "fresh" zombies of FTWD, I can't help but rembember the riduculousness of zombies in TWD running around for years without having something to bite and almost completely rotten ... ok I've got to stop now, it's about zombies, so no chance to get some sense into that, even the showrunners themselves made very clear that they just don't care to even try to put some effort on this topic ... LOL

| Yes, it's lazy, but TPTB said how it started doesn't matter, just how they deal with it. I like to think it was a bio weapon gone wrong that affected everyone, but who knows. | |

| I really like the kid who knows everything that's happening, I hope he makes it..... Tobias yeah hope he is part of 1st group of survivors.
where would be the drama without the usual stupid behaviour in TV shows...... really this is due to lazy writing, it makes it easier to write if people do dumb stuff. To have them be smart you have to put more effort into writing to then have the drama.
magically over night every human is "infected" by whatever,........ Well I came up with this: the bug which originates from a virus vaccine, which millions take, creates a new virus, inside them. This one is highly contagious, thru air or touch, and it doesnt kill but 1% of people, the rest are immune but carriers. They are not sick so no one knows they carry this virus or even that they get the virus. The virus has to be in a person for say 15 days before the die and be a Z takes effect. So the people who die from it dont turn, and it could spread thru out the world rather quickly. there would be a few isolated people who might not be exposed.
Then after say 2-3 months most people would be infected and not know it.
In this show according to the kid the Z thing has been popping up for a couple of months, and at a point where most all are infected and have had it in them for 15 days, then the rate of Z's turning up would start to snowball.
And that is where we are at in the show, at point it is snowballing.
and with no organized effort to combat it , it will spiral out of control. Another thing is our tendency would be to look for a cure, and not simple containment. Also the disease would be the focus, not the Z's until it was too late.
