Damn, it started a bit slow, but by now it really has gotten good (currently at episode 1x08). Maybe someone else might want to give it a try.

I tried the first one and did not care for it, it was a little creepy. Didnt really care for the storyline. What makes it good at ep 8?

Well, it grew on me already a few eps before ep 8. It's Sci-Fi, it has scenes in space at a space station and I like the AI. It's very well played by the child actor. Had a good ending with ep 1x13 with interesting potential for a second season. And the best thing ... it'll get a second season!!!

Boy. He just played well as an android, who's developping faster than expected.
The finale was kind of surprising, so it's cool to have a second season. Actually the AI plot was almost better than the whole Alien life form story. So maybe it'll grow on you too ...

so you have the AI and the Alien life form I assume she birthed the ALF or was it the android kid? the kid looks like the part, so I can see that might be ok.

...... well you could have, but not now. I know enough now.
Well I went to tv rage and read the really brief synopsis for each ep, it is like 1 line lol. And I figure the alien is the baby which she lost or woman took it, and I dnot know where the android boy came from.
I have too much to watch right now, but I might check out a few later around xmas hiatus. I already saw the pilot, so I might try 2-4 and see if it grabs me.

CBS summer sci-fi drama series Extant is shaking up its supporting cast heading into Season 2. Returning, of course, is star Halle Berry. She plays the lead, ISEA astronaut Molly, who mysteriously became pregnant while on mission in space. Also picked up are her co-stars Pierce Gagnon, who plays Molly’s android son, and Grace Gummer, who plays an assistant on the Humanichs Project. The intent is for two other Season 1 series regulars — Goran Visnjic, who plays Berry’s robotics engineer husband, and Camryn Manheim, who plays her friend and co-worker — to return for a couple of episodes at the start of Season 2. Hiroyuki Sanada and Michael O’Neill are not coming back.
Extant is not cutting back as a couple of new series regulars will be added for Season 2. The cast changeover stems from the series’ new main storyline, which will focus on Molly’s efforts to track down her alien son who is threatening the human race.
Such casting revamps are not unusual for dense, serialized dramas who shake things creatively season-to-season. HBO’s The Leftovers is going through a similar process heading into Season 2.
In its freshman season, Extant averaged 8.64 million viewers and a 1.7 in adults 18-49. It was not a big live performer but did solid business in DVR and online viewing as well as internationally as it boasts Oscar winner Berry as its star.
