Thursday’s Olympics coverage on NBC adjusted up from the early ratings to the finals, rising to a 9.1 rating in adults 18-49 from an 8.9.
NFL preseason games on local affiliates of the other networks predictably led to downward adjustments everywhere else. The night’s only other original shows, “Big Brother” (1.7) and “Beauty and the Beast” (0.2), each adjusted down a tenth.

The 2016 Summer Olympics hit double digits among adults 18-49 for the first time Tuesday. NBC’s coverage adjusted up a tenth of a point from the fast nationals to a 10.0, although the total audience fell slightly from 33.63 million to 33.44 million.
“MADtv,” meanwhile, adjusted down a tenth to 0.2 after factoring out a pre-emption for baseball in Chicago.
