The first NFL game of the season predictably adjusted up from Thursday’s preliminary ratings, but not enough to match the 2015 opener.
NBC’s coverage of the game finished with a 9.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 25.19 million viewers, down from a 10.3 and 27.4 million last year. The network says that adding in live streaming, the total audience for the game was 25.4 million.
Everything on the other networks held its fast national rating in the finals.

Wednesday’s three top shows in adults 18-49 had their ratings adjust up from the early numbers to the finals.
With the addition of a simulcast on MSNBC (which carried the same commercials as the NBC broadcast) and adjustments for live airings on the West Coast, NBC’s “Commander in Chief Forum” adjusts up to a 2.4, six tenths better than its preliminary number. “America’s Got Talent” (2.0) and “Big Brother” (1.9) each adjusted up a tenth.

The closing ceremony of the Summer Olympics was one of several shows to adjust up from its early ratings on Sunday. The ceremony adjusted up a tenth of a point to a 4.1 in adults 18-49, while “Rio Gold” preceding it moved up two tenths to a 2.7.
CBS’ “Big Brother” (1.9) and ABC’s “Celebrity Family Feud” (1.2) each adjusted up a tenth, as did a “Family Guy” rerun (0.7) on FOX. A “Madam Secretary” repeat on CBS adjusted down a tenth to 0.3.

The Olympics episode of “Superstore” came down some from its early ratings on Friday, but it still scored a series high by a wide margin.
The episode, which started at 10:34 p.m. ET, adjusted down three tenths of a point in the final nationals to a 3.0 among adults 18-49. That’s still a full point better than its previous series high, and nearly double its Season 1 average of 1.6.
The Olympics themselves adjusted up to a 5.5 after factoring out a commercial-free portion of the broadcast at the start of primetime. All of ABC’s and CBS’ shows adjusted down thanks to pre-emptions for NFL preseason games.
