You were right, T5000, that girl at the end of ep 2x01 had white hair like China White, but wasn't China White. I shouldn't have given that much importance to the hair colour. And why would a leader of the Triads, China White, suddenly turn out to be a helping hero. That would never happen, as we learned in ep 2x02, when she and her gang was robbing the FEMA transporters.
So that already was The (Black?) Canary at the end of ep 2x01.
I have to admit, she looks interesting and it probably will be fun to see her meeting Oliver, especially considering that she's Laurel's (supposed to be) "dead" sister, who might or might have not lost her memories.
On the other hand, how many good heroes can the show take without hurting the screen time of our main cast (Oliver, Felicity, Diggle)?  
But The Canary obviously will stay at least for a while, I guess.

Oh, and BTW, T5000, you might get a little of your "Summer fix" in ep 2x04 ...

Speaking of Caity Lotz (The Canary) ... I don't remember having seen her ever in a movie or series ...

Yes thanks, and I wonder what laurel will think of her , she is after all another vigilante, all heroes could be considered that.
I think their plans are to introduce quite a few other characters this season like BC so we just have to accept that.
I think they think it is necessary to be like the comics .
The flash will be introduced and they hope to spin him off into his own series, which I guess would also be a CW show.
I think one thing that hurts the show somewhat , even in ratings, is the island part of the story.
It is confusing and very serial, if you haven't seen them all a new viewer would not get that at all.
I myself have tired of it, and would rather have the girl shado? and Criksus in the present day part of the show.
If they ended it now without killing them off, they could have them turn up in the present, which would be much better.
It is never a good thing to have 2 storys running like this in one show.

well learned a bit about the word "Crucible", and it seems both laurel and sarah were choosing to stay in theirs.
After this ep , I am no longer excited about summer being on the show!
Her character is totally boring, I would rather see a roy thea scene than the summer scenes we have had so far. 
What I think is she wont be in many eps and what is there has no substance and does not take advantage of what she could do best, which is play a costumed hero, or sort of grey area hero , or even a villain.
So that is all a downer, but I like that they have not dragged out the canary story, they seem to have moved that along at a fast pace. I want to see her dad when he sees sarah alive!
The thing to do is have ollie say he needs to meet with them , laurel and dad, and then walk in with sarah and say look what I found! Then I would say she has had a rough time, so we need to not ask questions about where she has been or what happened the last 5 years.
the reveal at the end was a surprise, I thought that guy would be this shows, cheif gordon, but evidently he is a bad guy waiting in the wings.

Ok I posted links to articles in summer glau thread. they gave me new hope for summer character! 
She will be in ep 2x06 and 8 and she said some good reveals in ep 2x08.

Wow, I'm afraid you expect way too much from Summer's role in Arrow.
For me it's more like a bonus. I just enjoy what I get, but don't expect much screen time for her, because there are lots of characters in the show.
And with Felicity in every episode I don't complain ...
I liked the ep. It had good action and fight scenes, especially with Sarah/The Canary. And I'm very curious for her story. I hope she'll stay around a bit and doesn't disappear again as quick as The Huntress.
