TYRANT RETURNING FOR THIRD SEASON ON FX

FX Orders a 10-Episode Third Season of the Drama From Emmy®️ and Golden Globe®️ Award-winning Executive Producer Howard Gordon

LOS ANGELES, October 8, 2015 – FX has ordered a third season of Tyrant, the drama from Emmy®️ and Golden Globe®️ Award-winning Executive Producer Howard Gordon, it was announced today by Eric Schrier and Nick Grad, Presidents of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions. Tyrant recently completed its thrilling second season. The 10-episode third season will air in 2016.

“Tyrant’s second season took the show to a new level thanks to the skill and direction of Howard, Chris and Glenn and their creative team, the exceptional cast and a story steeped in family, loyalty and intrigue,” Schrier said. “We look forward to the next chapter and a sensational third season of Tyrant.”

Season 2 of Tyrant was executive produced by Showrunner Howard Gordon, along with Glenn Gordon Caron, Chris Keyser, David Fury, Gideon Raff, Avi Nir and Hugh Fitzpatrick. Tyrant is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.

On a Live+7 basis, season 2 of Tyrant averaged 2.47 million Total Viewers and 1.05 million Adults 18-49.

Tyrant is the story of an unassuming American family drawn into the inner workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation. Bassam “Barry” Al-Fayeed (Adam Rayner), the youngest son of a war-torn country’s controversial dictator, returns to his homeland after a self-imposed 20-year exile in America, only to be forced back into the treacherous familial and national politics of his youth. When his brother, Jamal (Ashraf Barhom), assumes the presidency, Barry becomes a powerful force within the government, fueled by visions of bringing humanitarian freedoms to his homeland. Upon realizing that Jamal lacks any sense of justice or morality, Barry colluded with members of the U.S. government on a failed attempt at overthrowing his tyrannical reign and was arrested on charges of treason. Having been betrayed by the West, Jamal now sets his sights on the East, developing an alliance with China that he hopes will make Abuddin a global power. But Barry continues to be a thorn in Jamal’s side, becoming a symbol of freedom for the increasingly vocal insurgency.

good news !!
I was worried about it, now that they have a S-3 we are more likely to get a S-4 and 5 !
This show was snubbed by the emmys, it is sad they give the emmys to the same shows over and over.
They ignore shows like this.

Tyrant - Season 3 - Annet Mahendru to Recur

TYRANT - SEASON THREE - General Discussion Amreicans-624-1394557800

"Annet Mahendru has been cast in a recurring role on the third season of Tyrant. Mahendru will play “Nafisa Al-Qadi,” the wife of “Sheik Al-Qadi,” the spiritual and political leader of Ma’an, who is caught between the violent tactics of the Caliphate and his distrust of the Al-Fayeeds. Nafisa is more politically hardline than her husband, and also happens to be the sister of a high-ranking Caliphate sympathizer."

We know her from The Americans ...

nice video and interview, very different, from the talk show crap.
This is more how interviews should be done.
plenty of time, and even allowed some spectator questions.

I would have never guessed she is jewish !

I agree. Those AOL BUILD interviews are well done.
In this case it was especially interesting, because Moran Atias grew up in Israel with the the threat of terror and all, so she obviously knew what she was talking about. And she really thinks about the situation there and has something to say with meaning, not just bla bla.
She was the ideal choice for a role like that in Tyrant!
