| "... SUPERGIRL is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents’ help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret. Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant (Golden Globe Award winner Calista Flockhart), who just hired the Daily Planet’s former photographer, James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), as her new art director. However, Kara’s days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw (David Harewood), head of a super-secret agency where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime. Greg Berlanti (“The Flash,” “Arrow”), Ali Adler, Sarah Schecter and Andrew Kreisberg are executive producers for Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The pilot was directed by Glen Winter (“Arrow”).MONDAY 8:00-8:30 PM THE BIG BANG THEORY 8:30-9:00 PM LIFE IN PIECES (N) 8:00-9:00 PM SUPERGIRL (N) (Starting in November) 9:00-10:00 PM SCORPION 10:00-11:00 PM NCIS: LOS ANGELES..."Supergirl @ CBSSupergirl @ Wikipedia

| I guess this happened intentionally and with permission by CBS. Just think of The Flash's pilot leak also several months before the air date last year and what a success the show became. If a show is good, such a "leak" is the most effective promotion for sure! So probably a clever move by CBS ... First Promo pics for episode 1x01 (Pilot): | |

Not really high on the show I will clue you in to a good comedy show, I dont really care for 30 min comedy shows, but "the goldbergs" is pretty good. you might try a few if you havent seen it. Also there is the killjoys show for sci fi, did you watch that one??? not sure cbs released this, also could have been WB studios.

| @tscc, the 1st villan in the ep is the same actor who played the 1st T in Tscc !
this show is made like lois and clark of the 90's, it even has the clark SMan from that show as kara's step dad.
Super man and girl flying.... originally he did not fly he could jump thru the air , like the hulk. At some point they gave him the magical ability to fly like he has a jet engine or something and that bothers me. The whole laser eye thing is just weird too.Same for x ray vision.

| I think Superman is the cheapest of all characters, he can do everything, not much imagination. I think that is why Batman is the coolest character in DC. Where is the pilot at? I haven't seen anywhere to watch it. | |

| THIS show starts at 7.30 pm, most or all 1 hour shows start at like 7:00pm unless a 30 min show. They must have a popular 30 min show in front of it ? | |

Yeah, I'm still surprised, how entertaining it turned out. And after all I like the "clumsy" way the main actress plays Kara when she's not in "Supergirl" mode.

| I like making her apart of the Arrow/Flash universe, do you think she is from E1 or they are on another Earth? | |

When team Flash was traveling to Earth 2 in the last Flash ep, they passed other Earths with one of them showing a picture of Supergirl, so I guess they will introduce Supergirl Earth as another parallel Earth. I wouldn't mind though also, if they put Supergirl just on Arrow's/Flash's Earth. The only problem is, that it's a bit hard to believe, that team Flash never heard about or mentioned Supergirl/-man and vice versa ... I mean, someone like the Flash or Supergirl/-man with their abilities would have to be world-wide breaking news all the time, wouldn't they?

I looked at the ratings thread, and the F was 1.3/4 6.11 and since you included the avg's The cbs avg for monday is 1.4 7.4 mil So it is about avg in ratings, so it should get a S2 not a hit though, and cbs is more demanding, but if it is a cbs studio show it will get 4 seasons. I dont watch it , look at the end of one and see what studio makes it.

| Supergirl has been renewed for a second season — but will be moving from CBS to The CW, EW has learned.
Supergirl, which stars Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, will now air on The CW, joining the other super series in producer Greg Berlanti’s universe, Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Since Supergirl was first announced in development at CBS, both fans and industry insiders have questioned whether the major network famous for its crime dramas was the right fit for the show. Previously, CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler defended the pickup, telling EW, “For our network right now, what we did respond to was the character’s humanity, the other characters in the show as well – the story trajectory and the character’s arc and growth. These are all things that made her just imminently relatable, and made the story exciting.” The series debuted in October to 13 million viewers and a 3.1 in the 18-49 demographic, but subsequently dropped to around 6.11 million and a 1.3 by its season finale in the next-day ratings. Currently, including DVR playback, the show’s season has averaged around 9.8 million viewers and a 2.4 in the demo, ranking in the bottom half of CBS’ programming in total viewers and 8th in the demo. Still, if the show’s audience remained close to the same, the numbers would be a boom for The CW. The network’s highest rated show, The Flash, has been averaging around 5.7 million viewers factoring in DVR.
Reports also have it that the series will move production from Los Angeles to Vancouver, where those other shows also film, but The CW would not confirm. The move could also bring more cross-over opportunities between Berlanti-verse brands, such as when The Flash joined Supergirl earlier this year.
The show’s budget is likely to be impacted. The Supergirl pilot cost a reported $14 million and the per-episode cost is reportedly around $3 million. As Berlanti once told EW: “The other thing I would say was incredibly hard, was just trying to do something of this scope and size, and, quite truthfully, in Los Angeles. It’s an expensive city to shoot in. These things don’t come cheap, and we didn’t want to do it if we couldn’t give it the scope that it really deserves.”
That means Supergirl 2.0 will likely be a more frugal production. Shooting in Vancouver instead of Los Angeles should alone bring some of the cost down, but it remains to be seen whether fans will be able to ascertain any production value difference on screen.
