Now here are 2 posts that I thought were good and if it turns out they are right could be interesting.
I think it’s more credible that Pastor Tim is also a KGB agent, who was positioned with two primary roles:
1. Gain the trust of Paige and become the confidant that she will contact after learning that her parents are spies. It’s imperative for the KGB to directly know what Paige is feeling/thinking (and eliminate the bias of her parents.) If Paige isn’t talking to Pastor Tim, it’s highly unlikely that she’s talking to anyone since she doesn’t seem to have any real friends and/or relatives.
2. Expose her to the injustices of the American government and inspire her to want to do something. (i.e. manipulate her) Also, teach her to question everything, including her parents. <>
If this is the case, it’s a masterful approach by the KGB.
Pastor Tim knew that the Paige was going to confront her parents and they would likely tell the truth. As such, he visited Philip to subtly manipulate him into having the perspective that his daughter should be treated as an adult; i.e. ready to hear the trust & join the cause (as opposed to a child who is clearly not ready.)
Lastly, I suspect that Pastor Tim has been positioned against Philip and Elizabeth, so Paige will always have one side to turn to, and the KGB will control both. Plus, Pastor Tim will be able to obtain info from Paige on P&E since she’s already confiding in him. This last element could be very important after what happened with the other (deceased) spy parents who were reluctant to let their kids join the cause.

Yes, I totally agree. Tim works for Gabriel. He is working Paige, EXACTLY like Gabriel is directing Philip to work Kimmy. Tim is working to recruit Paige, slowly and surely. She made that call to him "I did it" or "It is done - I will talk to you Sunday" - Tim was in on, Paige confronting her parents. He will now help Paige come to terms, and eventually make her comfortable, with KGB, as she TRUSTS TIM.
Gabriel told either P or E, "He (Gabriel) is working on it" with regard to helping get Paige on board.
At the travel agency, I think it crept into Phil's mind, Tim is using Paige, as he is using Kimmy. Remember that bus trip, where most viewers figured out, Tim was too in her space, on the verge of practically molesting Paige, and she was all giddy and crushing on him? PHIL and KIMMY!
Philip is using Kimmy, to get to her father's briefcase and the tapes. Gabriel has Tim, working with teenagers, to get to Paige, and others. Remember that teenaged girl on the bus when Paige went to her Aunt's house? I think she will be turning up again soon.
KGB had no problem, using creepy older guys, to manipulate young girls. Tim is doing, exactly what Phil is doing. And it is just occuring to Phil. We have viewed, a future preview, where Phil is losing it, screaming "I trusted you!" - he will soon find out, Tim has been manipulating Paige, to make the transition smoother, as she trusts him.
FINALLY! The trip to Kenya. It HAS TO BE IN JULY! So, with all of the African arcs, it comes home to roost. This story is going to pull together, in the next three episodes (is that the remaining number for this season?).
Tim is in place, as you describe, to be the soft landing for Paige. Either way she turns/trusts - she is KGB. That is when Philip is going to flip out. He thinks he still has some control, of Paige having a normal life, in good ol' USA. But they played it so well; Elizabeth, although she was on board for KGB Paige, is going to freak too. She has no control. She was hoping for a nice clerical job for Paige, in CIA office, like Martha's job. She thinks she would be the one teaching Paige the "ropes" - nope. This is going to get really ugly.
me:
So if Tim is kgb this could make things very interesting , like how would phillip and liz react to this?
They could go from being loyal agents to ones who are not.
How would paige react if she finds out tim is kgb? might she kill him?
Paige is smart, I think she figures it out if he is.
