"Pilot" - LAPD's Threat Assessment Unit's Lt. Beth Davis and Det. Jack Larsen search for a stalker with an affinity for fire. Also, Beth meets with an exasperated college student who claims his former roommate is aggressively harassing him, on the series premiere of STALKER Wednesday, Oct. 1 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS.

STALKER stars Maggie Q and Golden Globe Award winner Dylan McDermott in a psychological thriller about detectives who delve into the minds of stalkers to protect their targets from future incidents - including voyeurism, cyber harassment and romantic fixation - for the Threat Assessment Unit of the LAPD. Det. Jack Larsen is a recent transfer to the Unit from New York City's homicide division, whose confidence, strong personality and questionable behavior has landed him in trouble before - but also may prove valuable in his new job. His boss, Lt. Beth Davis, is strong, focused and an expert in the field, driven by her traumatic personal experience as a victim. Other team members include young but eager Det. Ben Caldwell, deceptively smart Det. Janice Lawrence and District Attorney Amanda Taylor who is trying to erase her painful past with Larsen. With their help, Davis and Larsen assess the threat level of cases and respond before the stalking and intimidation spirals out of control, all while trying to keep their personal obsessions at bay.

Damn, seeing Maggie in these promos, I just realized how much I still miss Nikita ... no matter how excellent the series ending was done ...  
But I intend to give Stalker a fair chance, even if I'm certain that it never will be a match for Nikita ... at least for me.

well it is a different type show, but if you like her it could be as good.
Would have been cool to have Lyndsey F. be a female detective on this show !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe she will show up later. or birkhoff could be a forensic geek analyst??
If those 2 were on the show, then I would definitely be behind the show.
I do like the actor playing her partner, but the other cast is so so.
I will give it 5 shows or so to see if it will be good or not.
I am not expecting much from the pilot or 2nd show, this type of show will have to do a few to get in the groove.

I watched some of the previews above, and they said dylan is following someone himself, and that
maggie has been stalked herself and maybe still is.
So those could make it more interesting.
If someone is stalking the head of a stalker unit , then he would have to be a super stalker ! LOL

Ok Just saw the show ep 01.
Not bad for a Pilot, it was well done, better than I expected.
I have a hard time relating to the whole idea of stalking, but it does happen so....
I liked the end where she slapped the kid around and told him to leave nick alone, and then later it shows he followed her home and I guess now he likes ( and will stalk) her LOL.
Dylan with ex wife and son kinda boring there, but he was good as the partner to beth.

Maggie did a good job with the role, I expected her to be more over the top or macho, but I liked the way she played it low key.

I might add it was very popular in tor's.

Yeah, meanwhile I did.
But to be honest, if it wasn't for Maggie's Nikita bonus, I'd probably give up already.
It just feels like another cop show so far, not that original or exciting. And it's far from Nikita's magic ...
Though they tried to include some kind of banter and hinted at some problematic background of the main characters, which they could explore more.
As a comparison "The mysteries of Laura" was much more fun to watch so far (saw the first three eps), because they managed to make me really laugh and don't take it too serious (somehow like Castle did perfectly, especially in the early days).
But ok, I'll just watch the next two or three eps before I'll make a final decision.

3 days power off???? 3??? Whoa ...
Can't remember power offs for more than a few hours in my whole life. And even that short power offs have been extremly rare.
I just hope that won't change in future times with more and more wind and solar power ....

Well the idiots here still have all electric and phone lines in the air on poles. newer areas are underground.
they should year by year one area at a time, move it all underground. It would make them money in the long run.
We had a storm come thru by surprise with 70-90 MPH winds.
Lot of trees blown down , limbs broken.
It was garbage day and my trash cart and recycle cart were just gone, I had to go find them later.
250,000 customers were knocked out of power, so while power is off, electric co isnt making any $ off those people.

On stalker, you should give it 3-4 eps, and it might not go past S-1 looking at the ratings.

I kinda liked it.

ep 2
well another decent ep with a lot of twists in the story.
Just when you think ho hum there is a twist to make it different.
I also like the subtle stalk of the guy who likes beth now. He went and hit on her friend, so I dont know what he plans to do there.
He made a good excuse to go see beth saying he needs help.

Then her partner jack kept up his stallk of his ex, so he was told he has 2 weeks to get out of town!
So she has a secret on him, and only out I see is to confess that to beth and tell her about his ex and kid.
So the arc stuff is pretty interesting, more so than the case part of the show.

I really liked Dylan McDermott on "Dark Blue". Did not see "Hostages" (Yet). He plays Detective Jack Larsen,that transfers to follow his son, Ethan, and ex, Amanda Taylor.. So he had stalking issues of his own.

Also Detective Beth Davis, (Maggie Q., who was on "Nikita" ,which I haven't seen) (yet), who has been stalked, it seems by the way she makes sure her place is secured at night.

Team is rounded out by Profiler Janice Lawrence and Ben Caldwell. Janice seems to like Jack.

COTW2, well one of them had College student Perry Whitley harassing Eric for sleeping with someone. Eric Bates looked familiar. I had seen him on "The Secret Life of The American Teenager". But in my book he could kick Perrys butt. Liked Beth having a "talk" with Perry. But she left curtain open and he is watching her. Is she setting him up?

COTW1 is the guy that throws gas on girls. He toasted one in her car,Kate Edwards. Not cool! What set him off? I thought maybe instead of backing up her car, ( I know she was scared), she should have gunned it and hit him.

Lori Carter was attacked in parking elevator.Then after hospital visit, taken back to her place to change by Police, and she was attacked there as they waited outside? No one heard her muffled screams? Larry Myers was a stalker. No one saw the rolled up carpet he crawled out of??

The ceiling peep hole I would have thought would be easy to see? Also the comment,"Looks like we have DNA, lots of the sticky stuff!" I figured that Curt Wild(Wedell Brey on "Bones")Gym instructor, was a suspect by being a known actor(to me).

Also like John M Jackson as Douglas Jefferies, He played on "JAG" and "Bones" as the leader.

Cases kind of ran together, have to watch a 2nd time

10-08-14 'Whatever Happened to Baby James?" 1.02 Hanna on phone talking to a gf, and hears stuff going on in house. Little brother Thomas taken was scary. Then Jack figures the stalker was hiding in the tree fort and was maybe after Hanna. Pressuring her to admit she had a lover, Victor Sweeny, but he was no kidnapper either. The checking of known assultist, Thaddius Barnes was a good check. He had many pics of Hanna and other teens on wall. Ok, creepy, but not the UnSub.
I should have thought closer about the 3 neighbors they interviewed.
But Sweeney helped find Rosemary Wilson's car. We findout she lost her son James. And she thinks Thomas is James. Judith(Rosemary) argument with the homeowner, "What are you doing in my house?" Beth comes in as the "neighbor Judy" that needs to borrow sugar. It almost worked but Thomas took off to quick. She fights well for a little lady. But Beth handled it pretty good.

We find out that Amanda Taylor, Jack's ex is the DDA. That could be problems. But he just wants to see his son. maybe eventually he will be able to and don't have to follow them around. But I wonder what he did wrong, was it sleeping with his superiors wife?

Jack explained to Janice when she wanted to go for a drink,"It's just drinks", Jacks reply, that" it is never just drinks".

Perry Whitley coming to see Beth to say he forgave her for beating him, and she acting like it didn't happen was cool. But him then talking to her friend,Tracy Wright, makes me worry for her heath. This could be an interesting story line.

It should round into a decent series. I hope!

Oh, you should definitely give it a try!
Imho Nikita was a real little gem, one of the best TV series in the last years.
I still start to swoon over it as soon as I think or talk about it ...

It's fine to do a Season thread. Easier on the site. If we had like 50 commenters it would be easier to have Episode threads, in my opinion.

NIkita looks good. I like Covert Affairs, and liked Alias. Wife lost interest in Alias when the friend was murdered and replaced in like season 2? Wife likes Person of Interest, but hates the Samaritan "Government after us" stories. She'd rather see Reese kick butt, and Harold helping save a number. So many movies and series with the government and others after you and you don't know who to trust, she don't like. She told me it confuses her and scares her. But I like that if it is worked out and thought out well.

Oh and Beth on Stalker needs to go to the beach. Dress in a bikini!
