| MARVEL'S AGENT CARTERAir Date: Tuesday, January 06, 2015Time Slot: 8:00 PM-9:00 PM EST on ABC Episode Title: (#101) "Now is Not the End (Pilot)" SERIES PREMIEREPEGGY CARTER RETURNS TO ACTION ON A MISSION TO CLEAR THE NAME OF HOWARD STARK... AND SAVE THE WORLD FROM HIS DEADLIEST WEAPONSABC presents its second action packed series from the creative minds at Marvel in "Marvel's Agent Carter", inspired by the feature films "Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier", along with the short "Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter". Years before Agent Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team swore to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive, there was Agent Peggy Carter ( Hayley Atwell, "Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger", "Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier"), who pledged the same oath but lived in a different time when women weren't recognized as being as smart or as tough as their male counterparts. But no one should ever underestimate Peggy. It's 1946 and peace has dealt Peggy a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy finds herself stuck doing administrative work when she would rather be back out in the field; putting her vast skills into play and taking down the bad guys. But she is also trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers - aka Captain America. "Marvel's Agent Carter" stars Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, James D'Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Chad Michael Murray as Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj as Agent Daniel Sousa and Shea Whigham as Chief Roger Dooley. Guest starring are Lyndsy Fonseca as Angie Martinelli, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Andre Royo as Spider Raymond, James Hebert as green suit, Kyle Bornheimer as Agent Ray Krzeminiski, Ashley Hinshaw as Colleen O'Brien, Carrick O'Quinn as tall bouncer, James Frain as Leet Brannis, Tim True as tipsy guy, Johnny Marques as bartender, Jeffrey David Anderson as short bouncer, James Urbaniak as scientist, Bill Kalmenson as Senator Webster, Lesley Boone as Rose, Costa Ronin as Anton Vanko and Kevin Heffernan as Madison Avenue Guy. "Now is Not the End (Pilot)"In the premiere episode, when old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, "Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger") finds himself being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons to anyone willing to pony up the cash, he contacts Peggy -- the only person he can trust -- to track down those responsible, dispose of the weapons and clear his name. He empowers his butler, Edwin Jarvis, to be at her beck and call when needed to help assist her as she investigates and tracks down those responsible for selling these weapons of mass destruction. If caught going on these secret missions for Stark, Peggy could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison - or worse. "Now is Not the End (Pilot)" was written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and directed by Louis D'Esposito. Source: Marvel.com | TheFutonCritic | |

Not that excited about it, but a plus that L.Fonseca is now in it! Haley is another english actor, and the guy from dollhouse I dont really care for, and never liked chad much.
If Lyndseys role is good then that might keep me watching. Also this is a 40's period show, and aside from the cars I dont really care for that period. Hair do's and clothes and dialogue will not be good. Should have somehow made it a current day show.
--------------------------------------------------------------- Saw most of this, didnt think much of it and doubt I will watch it at all, but wont dis it till you guys say what you think. After having watched the first two eps I can say that I liked it. It was fun to watch the 40s atmosphere. Other than you, I do not only like the old cars, but also don't mind the old clothes and good looking actresses, even if they are English. It had some good action too and the way Agent Carter as a woman is not taken seriously in the 40s by her male peers will be good for some nice surprises. One thing I don't understand. How did you know before watching that "dialogue will not be good"? Imho it was good, at least as good as in most of the TV shows we watch for entertainment. Not everything can or has to play in PoI's or Continuum's league btw ... Speaking of your girl Lyndsy, it's a very different role compared to Nikita, but at least she's counted as "series regular" and I think when Peggy moves in next to her, she'll have more screen time too. All in all I had a good first impression and I think it will be easy for me to watch the remaining 6 episodes. | |

| I don't think it was the greatest Marvel show, but I don't think it was bad either, I will watch the remaining episodes. It kept me interested. | |

I haven't read the comics, so I don't know much about the Marvel universe. So far I'm only watching Agents of Shield and now Agent Carter. I also have seen the movies Captain America I and II to learn about the background of AoS. To be honest, I didn't like the first Captain America at all. The connection of the whole Red Skull and Hydra thing with the historical WWII and Nazi scenery felt totally ridiculous to me. Also super powers in WWII and a super soldier who's throwing around a shield like a boomerang against modern fire arms was simply too much for me. The second Captain America was much more tolerable for me, because the ridiculous historical background scenery was gone and it was more of a spy/action/conspiracy movie. No surprise for me, why I like AoS and Agent Carter much more than the movies. For me the TV shows are way more "grounded" and less "silly" than especially the first Captain America (I can't explain it with better words, no offense to fans of the movie). | |

| Captain America was created during WWII, a lot of his hokyness stems from that era, and all the propaganda from the times. I like Cap simply because he is a straight up good guy. | |

Right, I almost forgot that the original comics are actually that old. But it's not the propaganda from that times which bothers me, because - however exaggerated propaganda usually is - no one would doubt that the war against Nazi Germany was necessary and justified. I just have a problem with the mixing of one of the darkest historical times with fantasy elements like Red Skull etc., which feels like kind of inappropriate to me. But maybe this is because I'm German and I'm used to handle the Nazi topic only in serious historical context. | |

| Yea, I can understand that, but Red Skull was really a Nazi in the comic. The story in the movie was almost spot on of the comic, so they were just paying homage to the original story. | |
