Ok, so this was one of actually only two good episodes of this season. And liked it a lot that the Vikings were defeated by Rollo and his Franconians. But the battle on the river was much shorter and by far less impressing than the episodes with the attack on Paris last season. It was a bit ridiculous though, that this total wreck of a junkie Ragnar could resist Rollo that long ... but whatever ... What almost ruined this midseason finale then, was the time jump with Ragnar suddenly gone for years without any clue where he was ... just to let him show up in the last minutes to get killed ... well, actually they pulled off that lame cliffhanger and obviously saved it up for ep 4x11 to show Ivar killing Ragnar ... Seriously, this series lost a lot of it's attraction by now ... so what will season 4b eventually bring? More of Britain? Sailing to the Mediterranian Sea? Another attack on Paris?

I haven't watched since about the 4th episode, seems like I didn't miss anything. The showrunners ruined what was an awesome show.

Yeah, it's just a matter of how much crap and idle running might be acceptable to get at least some decent or even awesome eps. Last season the battles for Paris still made up for quite some deficiencies, but this season the "cost-benefit ratio" seems to have gone down into a clearly negative area ...
Not sure, if it will get better, when Ragnar's storyline ends, but looks like we have some time to decide, whether to drop the show finally or give it a last chance. Season 4B will continue only in fall according to this:

Well I just realized last nite I had not seen ep 10 lol , so I watched it, and it was pretty good.
The river battle was no very well done, it seemed to me you had 100 boats on each side, but the battle took place on only 2 platforms.
It was like the rest just watched lol.
Rollo wins, and all are wounded but live.
Ragnar leaving was corny, and then coming back wanting someone to kill him is just a bad end to his story, if that is what happens.
If he turns into a loser idiot, then the rewatch value goes down !! Say I go back and watch S-1, if I know how it ends, I wont see him as the smart dude I thought he was in early days.
And since he is a viking they should have killed him in battle ! That looks better, and if Rollo does it he doesnt need or want to be king of that sect, so then it would be open for whomever.
Just a thought, but I rewatched 1 late S3 ep and 401, and they were not as bad as when I watched the first time, so these might be better in a 2nd viewing, and as a binge watch the first time.
So for the fall part 2, we maybe should save them up and watch all at once.
Or 3 at a time, With Banshee I am doing 2 at a time and it is much better like that.

HISTORY's hit drama series VIKINGS, filled with calamity, revenge and death, continues on Wednesday, November 30 at 9PM ET/PT. Led by Travis Fimmel (War Craft), the historical based drama moves to Wednesday nights for part two of season four.
After being defeated in a monumental battle in Paris against his brother Rollo (Clive Standen), Ragnar disappeared following his humiliating loss. "Vikings" then took an enormous leap forward during the midseason finale, time-jumping to a new era in its characters' lives.
In the midseason premiere, Ragnar's reappearance in Kattegat triggers a chain of events no one - except the Seer - could have ever imagined. He unexpectedly arrives home to see what has become of his sons and to handle unfinished business in Wessex with King Ecbert (Linus Roache). Meanwhile, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) plans a power play in Kattegat and Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) prepares to fulfill his long-held dream to explore the Mediterranean in a sleek new boat built for him by Floki (Gustaf Skarsg?rd).
"This season is monumental and unlike anything we've ever done," said Michael Hirst, creator and writer. "We've propelled 'Vikings' to the topmost level of historical drama as we follow storylines inspired by real life events such as Bjorn Ironside sailing through the Mediterranean and Ivar the Boneless BECOMING the most feared warrior of all time. It's not a story of one man, but a saga of Ragnar and his sons."
"Vikings" remains a top ten cable scripted drama (Live+SD) and within Live +7 delivery garnered 4.3 million total viewers, 2.1 million A25-54 and 1.8 million A18-49 during its season four ten week run in the spring.
Season five of "Vikings" is currently in production in Ireland as Golden Globe(R) Award winner Jonathan Rhys Myers (The Tudors) joins the cast.
"Vikings" is the critically acclaimed series from creator and sole writer Michael Hirst (Academy Award(R) winning film Elizabeth and the Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) nominated series "The Tudors") and is a family saga that tells the remarkable tales of the lives and epic adventures of the raiders and explorers of the Dark Ages.
Hirst serves as executive producer along with Morgan O'Sullivan of World 2000 (The Count of Monte Cristo; "The Tudors"), Sheila Hockin ("The Tudors," "The Borgias"), John Weber of Take 5 Productions ("The Tudors," "The Borgias"), Sherry Marsh, Alan Gasmer and James Flynn ("The Tudors," "The Borgias"). Jana Bennett and Arturo Interian are the executives in charge of production for HISTORY.
VIKINGS is an international Irish/Canadian co-production by World 2000 and Take 5 Productions. HISTORY broadcasts domestically in the U.S. MGM Television brought the series to the network and brings VIKINGS to the global audience, serving as the worldwide distributor outside of Ireland and Canada. VIKINGS is produced in association with Corus Entertainment, and the series also airs on HISTORY in Canada.

Ok nov 30, I had read 2017. No telling if it will be good, dont care much for hirst's writing, and with less ragnar it will be less interesting. bjorn is boring and the boneless kid will get old fast I think.
