Defeat for the Vikings calls Ragnar's leadership into question as they evacuate their camp and move back down-river. Ragnar himself remains inscrutable until he orders the fleet to beach at a cliff face and unveils an ingenious plan. Rollo and Gisla have news that strengthens Rollo's position at the French Court whilst Count Odo fails to identify his true enemies, with fatal consequences.

Portage means they will take thier boats overland past the forts, then back in the river.
So it depends on paris defenses again.

One thing is that they barely got in last time so why do they think they
can get in again? with no new weapons or ideas!

And about the portage, why choose an area with cliffs ??

And too bad they dont know about the wheel, or they could roll the boats instead of
dragging them!
At that rate they will be back in the river in a year or 2

I am also wondering why they really need the boats to attack paris,They
could just walk up river past the forts, and then attack.
The boats did not help them last time.

The episode was partly quite ok, especially the events at Wessex (Judith !!!), but I do have several bigger issues with it.
First, for heaven's sake, please drop that awfully boring and completely uninteresting story around Kattegatt and Harbard, I can't stand that crap anymore!
Second, Ragnar by now has become such a disgusting character (killing Yidu like that just for some drugs, wtf???), he's simply a crackhead, who just needs to go, it almost hurts to watch him on screen ... more than ever I'm totally ruling for the Franconians ... let's hope Rollo kicks Ragnar's and the Vikings' asses big time again!!
Third, the whole lifting the boats up the cliffs and carrying them across the mountains looks and feels way over the top. No way they realistically could have pulled that off within that short time and with that amount of boats ... also no one, seriously not a single Franconian soul is watching them and reporting what is happening?? Not even by accident? Is this all a wasteland around the river Seine?? Bullshit!!!

No way they realistically could have pulled that off within that short time and with that amount of boats.... Well like i said, that spot they chose was really bad, but it could be done,people back then did some things we couldnt do today.

one bad thing about getting older, is your a little smarter, and also watching a lot of TV
shows tend to make one more critical of them.

For example 10 or 20 years ago I would not be complaining about this show or others, like i do now.

I know because if you go back and watch some shows from 10 or more years ago they will seem corny or have mistakes etc, that you didnt see back then.

As time goes by we get harder to please.
