Well, I guess the challenge or question this season simply is, if we can stand the crap of half or even two third of the episodes long enough to enjoy maybe six or eight decent eps ... might get a tough one ... 
At least the previews for ep 4x05 look more promising ... hopefully we won't be fooled again ...

Damn, was I wrong ... I was obviously simply tricked by the "Mid-season teaser", which had nothing to do with ep 4x05.
Ep 4x05 was another crapfest of boredom ... I mean, who wants to see e.g. Ragnar licking Yidu's feet etc.??
Nothing really happened again, except Ivar murdering another child (what exactly does that add to the story???) and in the last minute, Lagertha just murders Kalf at their planned wedding out of the blue without any hint, if she just never has forgiven him (she once promised back in season 3 to kill him someday) or if she somehow (?) knew something about his plans to kill Bjorn and to destroy Ragnar's family.
Just wow, this show has gone really off the rails by now ... I'm wondering, if it's worth to keep watching just for the hope to get maybe a handful of decent eps like when Ragnar finally meets again Rollo during another attack on Paris ...

Well Tscc, some of each ep is ok and some isnt, and the whole is somewhat
jumbled, as it doesnt seem to lead to anything relevant .

I do find some of it amusing lol.

Like Lagertha has her shield maiden squad now, pretty soon
the women vikings take over?? 

Then she killed the guy who wanted to marry her, and I didnt really get that.

he seemed to really like her, and she didnt know about his trying to kill bjorn.

Bjorn knows the kings son sent the berserker, yet left him alive >?? 

And Ragnar, is he licking feet now ? lol must have missed that, he has been crazy since S-2.

Rollo is now a frenchman and his wife just loves him, that is all kinda funny.

Ragnar has evidently given up on England for time being.

He did say he cared not for battle etc. so maybe he should retire ??

They have so many stories going and just a little on each one each ep, so it is
hard to get into any of them.
