| Reminds me of "V", but other than "V" it probably will have closure, because it is planned as a mini series from the very beginning. | |

O well will finish 1 and decide whether to see # 2 or not

| Ok I finished one and the devil stepped out, lol so I decided to do # 2.
Now being honest , I figured that he was either real ugly, or a creature who looked evil, so I was close, but never figured on the devilish appearance.
# 2 was better, still a simple but slow moving story . Story telling is ok though.
I just finished 2 and I thought the baby might come out with hooves or horns lol. but he programmed the baby I think.
I wonder if he is testing the prophet guy, he made him sick, then gave him the cure, and maybe knew the girl would shoot him?? and see if he saved himself or him.

| ok saw part 3 and was not a good ending lol not something to rewatch.
not enough was explained. The kids becoming super human and then jennifer was way over the top.
Then the black guy goes to the home world , then wants to go home lol man he made a bad move there, and then another one at end.
This might have been good had someone reworked the story, and a new ending.
This was what galactus did to planets in FF comic, he destroyed worlds for the energy. But he needed that to survive, and they never explain why they destroy the earth, or who the big boss is.

Ok, plain and simply, the ending just ruined the whole thing for me. It's like Lost. The ending is that bad, that I probably never will have the wish to rewatch this. And it's not just the fact, that the ending is very depressing. No, the problem is, that all the explanations given in the end just feel like far-fetched nonsense, even for Sci-Fi. What a crap to introduce that "Overmind", who just needs to suck up the magically "enhanced" children, and worse, also needs a blown-up planet to succeed finally. I could go on, but it's already a lost cause, so I just drop it ... Seriously, last year's Syfy mini series Ascension was way better and would have deserved a continuation instead of this wast of time Childhood's End ...

| Well we agree then on this one !!
Showing the end at the start of the show made me think .....oh no ! and so you kinda know that the ending wont be a good one, but then you get to the end, and it is even worse, but in a nonsensical way.
I did like the girl who liked the black guy, I think charlotte nicado.
I looked her up and she hasnt done much of interest, but did find one of her movies. It is called " The Subjects" I guess it would be science fiction category, and is a low budget Austrailian movie. I usually dont like movies made there, but this one was pretty good.
Sort of like "Saw" #1 in that the story is such it can be done very cheaply and in one location. It has good acting and they keep it interesting and have the tension going , and make you wonder till the end.
Worth seeing though. | |
