| This felt like another slow moving episode, this season overall has been a let down, hopefully it picks up by the end of the season or I may drop this show | |

Exactly what I thought too. Instead of at least showing some of the aftermath of Athelstan's death at Kattegat, suddenly they arrive at Paris, but nothing happens, just another filler ep. Looks like they have to spend most of the budget for the big battle for Paris maybe in next ep. Then they have to deal with the situation in England in another ep, so there's even room for another filler ep left ...

| I really wanted some follow up with Athelstan's death, Ragnar has to know it was Floki, maybe he is trying to get Floki killed in Paris. | |

That might well be. I think it's bad writing to skip the whole situation at Kattegatt after Athelstan's death. And Floki was always kind of crazy, but likeable. Now he's just totally nuts, a religious fanatic, who deserves to go ... yeah, maybe Ragnar will get him punished during the attack on Paris, after Floki served his purpose by building those siege towers ...

| I agree about Floki, he went from one of my favorite characters to just get rid of him. | |

| well guys you dont like hirsts writing ?? lol He wrote this ep. What I see is Ragnar suspects him or knows, and he is setting him up to fail.
That is why he put floki in charge, and let the others come up with a plan. then when they fail he can step in and show why he is the king.
When floki fails he will see the gods did not help him after killing A.
The bottom line is this show has a 10 ep season, and they have too many storylines going. The result is none of them move very far!
It would be better to just have one or 2 storylines and have them move along and be complete by season end.
But hirst is running the show, and he has messed up this season, but it is still good show.
He spent whole ep killing off siggy, plus other time leading up to it, and the A killing was just bizzare, and not a good idea and then the jump to paris is also not a good idea.
If you binge watched this instead of the week by week, it would be better, but week by week it seems slow and like nothing happening because none of the storylines will complete.
I dont really see them getting back to england this season. I think floki might be dealt with, but that does not make sense since he seems to be their only ship builder or builder period, so how can you kill him off?
Also they have more ships this season than ever before. They have built more real ships , as it goes on they can have more real ships to show each season.

| The series dexter did a good job of having a good story arc that was completed each season. The story moved along at a good pace. But some of these other shows now have gotten away from that model. And I still say blame WD for making the killing of major characters popular. | |
