Better Call Saul Episode 1x08 March 23 2015

Well another slow ep, I read on imdb wiki, that many are complaining the show is too slow or not interesting enough.

Also several said that chuck will along with HH screw  jimmy on this rico case.

This will lead to chuck going back to work , using this big case to look good.

I feel somehow jimmy will get screwed.

Mike is now looking for xtra $ for his D , so he will start to do the shady work which leads to gus.


I find the shows interesting enough, but they could use some more pizazz, and I think they are telling the story too slowly, too leisurely  , and in to much detail.
Some scenes which should be short, are long and drawn out.

I think they had a story arc that could have been done in 5 eps, and just stretched it to 10 !

Similar for vikings , they take a small story and make it cover the whole season.

Which is ok for some, who like the detail and slow moving story, but others will get bored and drop the show, or just binge watch later, which means dropping ratings.

How is saul doing now in the ratings?

I thought this was a pretty good episode, his brother is starting to feel better, you are probably right about Saul getting screwed, he may get some money, but no where near the millions they are talking about. AMC appears to have faith in the show and showrunners though, they renewed for a second season before the first even premiered. Maybe they figure people will binge watch and then come to the show, like they did with Breaking Bad.

the ratings were falling each ep, but went upward at 7 and up a tad more with 8,
so that is a good sign.
1.3 isnt bad for a cable show, but not a big hit either.
I would say it is better than most others though as far as dramas.

The viking show could be a good one to compare this one to.

ok I was thinking about S-3 of vikings, but here comparing the S-1 they did abut the same in demos,
with vikings doing 1 mil better in total viewers

and vikings did not have walking dead as a leadin and or be a spinoff of a popular show like BB.

So really saul is not doing as good as it should have or could have.

They could have had the pilot be better by showing what happened to saul at end of BB and  even had
 arron and walter in some new scenes, their last talks with saul.

And show why saul would leave town if he did , instead of just showing him working in a donut shop or whatever that was. Then flash back to how it all started, and tell a faster story.

I and other want to see saul, not jimmy for 5 years, I mean what if he doesnt become saul till S-5??
or if it was canceled after 3, he never became saul? that would be a shame.

And dont get me wrong I am ok with the show and will watch it, but I know others will stop if it stays this slow.
It will be like other shows that have a small loyal following, but not good enugh in the ratings.

but good thing is last 2 eps have gone up so that is good sign.

@ tscc could you post the vikings ratings for all 3 in that forum??
I have read that it is a hit, so hirst thinks he is super showrunner now, but just  curious what S-2 and 3 ratings are.
It is big for hist ch, and maybe not for other cable channels
