Ok i saw 13 and it was kinda silly, I can only figure ragnar is going there to die, but why take ivan? I thought maybe he wanted to see his son, but dont think he knew about that. Lagertha is taking the throne back lol, so that is good. ...
Ragnar is well aware, that he's not able to take revenge on King Egbert by military power, so he just counts on the arrogance of Egbert. While Egbert might not feel actually threatened by an old and alone Ragnar and just could beat and torture him, Ivar was told by Ragnar to just blend in and act like a cripple until his moment would come. I think Ragnar hopes to be left alive long enough, until Ivar gets his chance to assassinate Egbert. This would provide revenge and the following chaos might even give an opportunity for Ragnar and Ivar to escape ... Or ... does he hope to cut a deal with Egbert somehow? I mean, Ragnar was always good for some surprises yeah he is, but I think he came there to die, and he may have a plan, but about ivar he didnt know ivar would go, ivar volunttered and was only son to do so , so he took him. I think he just wanted to get ivar some experience. I thought he might leave ivar with the king to be educated, but now wants him sent back home. Have to wait till next ep to see more on that aspect....
BTW, I don't think Lagertha will kill the Queen. boy you got that wrong lol not only did she , but she shot her in the back !!!!!!! didnt like that. How would her sons ever be able to move on? And she already realized that killing the sons would probably turn Ragnar against her, what she doesn't want at all, because despite some lesbian adventures she obviously is still sweet for Ragnar ...
yeah she spared them though.
Lagertha, just blew off her other kingdom?? she was a queen there before the raid on france, then she was just in katagut all the time. The other odd thing was she shoots her in the back, then gives her a fancy royal funeral lol.
Well, I really started to like Vikings again, but out of the blue they have to ruin Lagertha's character once and for all ... what a shame ! Lagertha was a cool character once, but what has become of her by now? Just a pathetic, jealous and revengeful bitch, who even needs to shoot the Queen in the back! Seriously??? Because the Queen was a witch??? What a load of bullshit!! So I'm done with Lagertha! Maybe Ubbe or Ivar will take care of her ... I will keep watching though despite I really don't see much sense in Ragnar's death wish. But I liked his conversations with Egbert. Somehow they actually are of the same kind and even understand and respect each other, so why wouldn't they find just a pragmatic solution? Is it really only possible to create enough rage in Ivar and the Vikings to attack England again in case Ragnar is killed by King Aelle?? I guess I don't like going down that road. But I still hope, Ragnar and Egbert might have another surprise up their sleeves ...
BTW, Lagertha had no kingdom, it was much less, just an earldom. She took this and the title "Earl" from her second husband who was also murdered by her ...

BTW, it's kind of tricky to detect your postings, when you write just into the quotes. Above at first I totally oversaw those parts in the quoted area ... no offense, just saying ...

even needs to shoot the Queen in the back! Seriously???..... Well I noticed Hirst wrote this one ? maybe all of them? He is a goofball, like JF I give him credit for creation, and some casting and characters, but his writing is not very good, and often times awful !!!!
Lagertha shoot her in back was bizarre, as there was no need or point to that, and it makes lagertha look bad ! So I have to wonder when hirst writes this crap can he not see or think people will not like this? This makes no sense?
I think I would have just had lagertha let her go, and not take anything, and if her sons want to go with her they can but if they want to stay they have to swear loyalty to lagertha.
About the talks, yes that was best part of the show. Egbert doesnt want to kill him, but ragnar is wanting to die lol. thing is no one would know if they killed him and ivar, his people would just think he drowned at sea, and no one cares about ragnar or ivar now.
Hirst should have hired someone else to write S2 onward.

I might add this show is too PC about women and gays, lagertha is now a lesbian and is powerful ruler now. it has women doing things they did not do back then.
The other thing I didnt like was making ivar impotent or cant have sex, what was the point to that??
But hey tscc it is the only viking show on until netflix does S2 of that other one.
I wont let hirst ruin lagertha for me, just ignore the back shooting, and lesbian stuff.
he is doing a good job of ruining ragnar ,and rollo, who were 2 of the best in S1.

Poor actress ... how she actually tries to justify and to sugarcoat Lagertha's poor character "development" ... but what else could she do, if she wants to keep her job at least for a few eps longer ...
BTW, Katheryn is still pretty hot looking in real life ...
