"The Enemy" - Kirkman learns who is behind the attack and needs to grapple not only with the prospect of war, but brewing domestic troubles as well. Kirkman taps Emily to monitor the domestic situation, while Alex may be in for more than she bargains for when she seeks out help from Hookstraten, on ABC's "Designated Survivor," WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12 (10:00 - 11:00 p.m. EDT).

"Designated Survivor" stars Kiefer Sutherland as Tom Kirkman, Natascha McElhone as Alex Kirkman, Adan Canto as Aaron Shore, Italia Ricci as Emily Rhodes, LaMonica Garrett as Mike Ritter with Kal Penn as Seth Wright and Maggie Q as Hannah Wells.

Guest starring are Virginia Madsen as Congresswoman Kimble Hookstraten and Kevin R. McNally as Harris Cochran.

"The Enemy" was written by Dana Ledoux Miller & Jon Harmon Feldman. Paul Edwards is the director.

I liked the ep.
Kirkman is adapting to his situation. He seems to realize that he has to establish some basic authority and respect, before everything would fall apart. Arresting that rebelling governor was a surprising move, he even disappointed his special advisor.
But this and firing that asshole general was necessary to keep control.
I agree, the attack might be homegrown, maybe the first step of a big coup to force the nation behind some strong "law, order and war" regime ... still, to this extent it's pretty far fetched and the weaker point of the whole concept of this show. But I can live with that, I just consider it a minor flaw.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to the next episodes!

yeah so far kirkman has done a good job, and that to me is the focus of the show.
To show how a ordinary guy would react and handle being suddenly the president.

So he will have all sorts of problems, enemies, situations, challenges, etc.
The fun is in seeing how he deals with it, and he is the one you have to root for in
this show.
The rest is just side story.

Funny how people disrespect him due to being sec of housing,but he is no different
Than many who might run for pres, or get elected.

His experience is lacking, but that is what cabinets and advisors are for, and he doesnt
even have what most presidents have in that regard.

Also any president can be put into a situation where past experience wont really help.

Like Kennedy with the missiles in cuba, that was a unique situation, and you just have to use
common sense and brainpower to deal with it.

Personality and the image they project, and whether weak or bold, or soft , slow.
All that affects how other countries etc, will act or do.

Like putin I think has taken advantage of obama, and will do the same with hilliary,
but he might not be as bold with trump.
