Boardwalk Empire Final Season Discussion

The time jump was tricky to figure out until I read an article about it this morning, I like the Flashbacks to when Nucky was a kid, I wonder if the final episode will be when prohibition ends, just like the first episode was when it began, looking forward to the rest of the season.

yeah that showed how he hooked up with the major.
no telling how it ends or what happens, but it is usually good.

Well Historically speaking, Charles "Lucky" Luciano becomes the crime boss of New York so I like how they are sorta hinting to that

yeah he just joined the real mafia, that guy they killed, was a independent boss.
Also the girl said she didnt know where the key was, and then later was into the files, and had the key.
Wonder what she was doing? I know she helped the one guy who had dealing with nucky, so maybe she is covering up that deal.

I hope they show us how Chalky was arrested, last season ended with him hiding in the country

Well I wondered how he wound up there, I could not remember the last show, so thought it was my memory.
I would think they would explain it. I hate flashbacks like that though.
the nucky as a kid is ok, but with chalky, and others just pick up where you left off !

I read an interview with the show runners, they jumped 7 years into the future, it's like 1933 or 34 now

Why did nucky have the one guy killed at the end ??? was that necessary??
you could just send him on a trip somewhere so he couldnt talk to lucky.

Only part I liked was the guys robbing capone to pay capone.

Only part I liked was the guys robbing capone to pay capone.

The reason he killed him and left him at Lucky and Meyers was because that is an old school gangster move, letting them know he was on to them. I find this part really fascinating because Historically Lucky and Meyer took out all the old gangsters and put themselves in as the new regime, even though Nucky is a fictional character interacting with these real people, it makes sense they would move on Nucky too, trying to consolidate all the power.

Ok so he left the guy where they would find him, and know nucky killed him??

about nucky , I read that he was a real character, and was a town boss , nothing bigger than that but was a town boss for good period of time.
He was a interesting guy and different , and that is what inspired a story about him.
that is why he is the central character.

Yea, Nucky wanted them to know he knows.

Nucky is supposed to be based on a few people from back then, they just take a creative license with him and interweave him through historical stuff

I liked the way the last ep ended, he woke up and his ex woman was there, I liked her till they sort of wrote her in a bad way.

Yea, I liked them together too, hopefully she gets something good to do this season.

Saw ep 4 it was good with many surprises nucky and his ex got along good.
Crazy al capone kills another guy for no reason, mueller is maybe in trouble, the killed off P.A.
Nucky becomes deputy sherrif as a kid.

I liked seeing Nucky becoming deputy, I thought it was a very good episode. I think the FBI is going to use Mueller to try to help take down Al Capone. Also, I found it interesting that AL called Nucky to tell him about Lucky Luciano, these last few eps should be great!

I really enjoyed this episode, I like the time jump in the flashbacks, the actor the gut for young Nucky looks a lot like him, only 2 episodes left!

well it must have gone down in the ratings, and they didnt want to spend the $ on a full final season.
I would complain, but some type of final season may be good, depending on what they do with it.

So 6 episodes have played? So only 2 left in the series.

Well, you can really tell the end is close now since the killed off 2 of the most popular characters, I figured Nelson would eventually die, he's done to much to come back from, but I wish if Chalky had to die he could have taken Narcisse with him

ok just letting you know Ez, I have 6 and 7, but I think I am going to wait till I have 8 then watch all 3.
so I will post about those and season end after few days after 8 airs.

yeah just saw ep 506, and it was good except the killing of nelson, that was such a stupid way for him to die, at least chalky had a better death.
But really I dont see the need to kill off characters just to kill them or to be shocking or what ever.

To me when you kill off one like nelson it sort of ruins it for a rewatch later on.

Will watch the other 2 now and get it over with, since this does not bode well, if most end up dead.

I saw an interview with the show runner who said they were killing people so Nucky was the focus at the end, I will wait until you are caught up to discuss the ending

Ok I saw the last 2 eps, and I dont really care for tragic endings.
I wanted Nucky to survive.
Then his killer being tommy who was a wimpy kid with good parents last time we saw him, so how did he end up here and wanting to kill Nucky??
The motivation is just not feasible, doesnt make sense.

I do have one question, when nucky went to see jillian, and she went to get up and it was painful, what was that about??

They basically just killed everyone except eli and the true life ones they couldnt kill.
