BROADWAY STAR ANDY MIENTUS GUEST STARS AS THE PIED PIPER - Dr. Wells' (Tom Cavanagh) former protégée, Hartley Rathaway (guest star Andrew Mientus), returns to seek revenge on his mentor after being affected by the particle accelerator explosion. Now able to manipulate sound waves, the brilliant Rathaway is a dangerous threat to both Wells and The Flash (Grant Gustin). Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) is thrilled when she's hired by the Central City Picture News as their newest cub reporter. Unfortunately, her editor (guest star Tom Butler) pairs her with a veteran reporter, Mason Bridge (guest star Roger Howarth), who wants nothing to do with her. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) recalls his first day on the job at S.T.A.R. Labs when he met Hartley and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker). Joe (Jesse L. Martin) asks Eddie (Rick Cosnett) for a favor but asks him to keep it a secret from Barry.

John Showalter directed the episode written by Alison Schapker & Brooke Eikmier (#111).

Ok saw this live, missed some parts,but it has some reveals in it about  Dr wells.
At one point he said he would be ready soon, so he may then reveal some intentions.
Still think he is from the future, and he is limited in what he can do as the flash.
I think he is trying to correct that and is waiting on something.

Iris is a reporter now ....ho hum

Then the piper is a old employee of wells and may know about the flash side of him.
Of course they beat him in the end, and his power was I think from a device not from the explosion.

Pretty good ep though, will have to watch it again later.

On the CW, The Flash earned a series low 1.3, down a tenth from last week's 1.4 adults 18-49 rating. Supernatural garnered a 0.8, down from last week's 0.9 adults 18-49 rating.

I find this odd, 4 mil viewers and only 1.3 demo, it is like most watching are outside the 18-49 range.

Still # 1 show for CW though .
could be some arrow fans watched for couple of eps then dropping out.

I read that CBS is coming out with a supergirl show, and then some other comic show nightwing?
Supergirl is to be like lois and clark show of 90's, so just some standard stuff.

wow flash tied the demo and almost as many viewers,

I thought it was a good episode, really liked the villain, I too think Wells is from the future, and they mentioned the Speed Force, which is a huge storyline in the comics. Also, Iris is a reporter in the comic

If I had done the show Iris would not be his step sister, and I would have waited till S-2 just to introduce the character, and have him gradually fall for her.
The way it is now she is a distraction to the story, and it just isnt a believable romance.
It is always better to see it happen rather than just be there already.
