This season is moving along fast. Im glad Jon's watch has ended, I wouldn't stick around either if I was him. Arya is becoming a little badass! Poor Shaggydog, I don't think the future bolds well fro Rickon.

To be honest, I think ep 4x03 was pretty "underwhelming". All this "a girl is no one" bla bla and the bullshit of that High priest got way too much screen time instead of having more of Tyrion and the dragons or some hints what is going on now in Jon Snow. Just the fact that he's done with the Night Watch, ok, but it wouldn't have hurt to learn a bit about his new goals ... Did he leave now for his sisters or for the Iron Throne or both or whatever??? I'd say over all they missed a chance to make Jon's return way more spectacular ... Jon is back, yeah, but that's it for now ... And suddenly Ramsay got his hands on Rickon, how convenient is that to give us some more sick Ramsay stuff ... Well, at least Jon may have additional motivation to go for Winterfell ...
Seeing as how we are in unknown territory, the show has surpassed the books, I am left to clues I think they are going, Yes, Jon will watch south onto Winterfell, and I believe he will extinguish the Bolton line. I think he is going to consolidate the North in preparations for the Walker attack, that should happen by the end of the season. Brans visions will reveal Jon's parentage soon. As for being a letdown, It's kinda hard to top a resurrection, I liked the episode, it's on pace to be the best yet!
I don't know, but some storylines like Arya's or Ramsay's or Bran's just don't catch me enough, so probably I expect too much and end up a bit disappointed, when I there's - for my taste - too little of Tyrion or Daenerys or the White Walkers ... Besides this, GoT still is one of the better shows on air, so I'm not gonna drop it ...
But, Ez, do you really have the impression, this season is fast paced? Because sorry, I don't. What - except Jon's resurrection, which surely was the big thing so far - was really more than slow set-up? There could so much happen like around Cersei, what's the status of the White Walkers, Daenerys seems to be parked, because the showrunners simply don't need her right now ... I just would like to see more "development" per ep, not just two or three big eps every season ... ;-)
Parts of it are slow, like the south and Dany, I feel like the North storyline is moving very fast. Roose killed, Ramsey takes over. Jon leaves NW, probably to rally Northern Support to overthrow Ramsey, and prepare the North for the Walkers impending invasion. I think Arya's storyline is moving pretty fast too. She has become quite a warrior in just three episodes, able to use all of her senses now, she got her eyesight back quicker than I thought she would. I think she will be heading home to Westeros by the end of the season. I think by seasons end, many of the storylines will have converged or been eliminated. The showrunners said they only envision about 75 hours or so for the entire series. Which means to shortened seasons to finish the series.
